My sweet hubby shopped on Gilt tonight for Baby! And, I think he found her outfit to come home from the hospital! For some reason, I want her in soft, comfy pajamas on her day coming home from the hospital….probably the same thing I’ll be in! I don’t know why I feel like that. I guess I feel like birth is traumatic. I’ll be recovering. She’ll be experiencing life for the first time and I want her in something comfy! I just want her in something comfy and something that we (new parents) can easily dress her in (kimono). Maybe I’m just nesting and afraid I won’t be able to dress her! I was adding some of this kimonos to my registry this morn and then hubby found this great set from the same company tonight.
BUT….I still need a matching hat to go with this outfit!
I’m thinking since it’ll be June, maybe just the kimono bodysuit w/o the feet [I don't even know what these are called....in time, I guess?] And, then a cute hat to match? In ivory or striped/polka ivory and pink?

We also found this great deal on this simple bumper cover, but I’m not so sure it’s the color pink I will want to use in the nursery. It was only $15 on Gilt though SO we got it anyway!
We’ll see what I decide when the time comes!
I was thinking of this color scheme so….we’ll see! I might end up going lighter w/ the turquoise and the pink. We’ll see!
What do you think is the perfect outfit to bring a new baby home from the hospital? Attach a pic or a link to a pic of your little one coming home from the hospital? Or link to it on the Facebook FITori page!
Let me know if you need a GILT invite!

Both my little ones came home in the same outfit…a winnie the pooh sleap sack with a matching hat w/pooh ears and socks. they were so cute! even born in the summer (may and august) i brought them home in hats and socks. seriously my apt was cold due to the air conditioner and all that. i came home in pjs too. love the little outfit!
love pooh bear!! how cute!!!
What a CUTE and comfy coming home outfit for baby Bolt! I like that it has the hand covers on the sleeves. We were thinking the same thing as far as picking a comfortable, PJ type outfit… I have a lavender sleeper and a light blue one waiting to be washed and packed. Just hoping to find a little headband to go with the girl one.
hahaha! I didn’t even know that’s what those were for…the hand covers! I have so much to learn!
Headban is a great idea! Maybe I’ll opt for that instead of a hat. I guess I’m figuring her head may still be a little smooshed after birth so she might need a hat!
Hm… good point about the hat, I hadn’t thought about smooshed head from birth. I guess I’m preoccupied with how fun it will be to have cutesy things on a little girl that I didn’t think about the practicality of it. It is such good discipline for me that I don’t know the gender, because I have the urge to buy every adorable little outfit (boy or girl) I see right now!
All tiny babies, no matter what time of year need to come home in a hat. Haley was born in January, in Montana, no one saw her coming home hat, they saw a covered car seat – Kale came home in June in Montana, and was still in a (only blanket) covered car seat (please don’t cough, sneeze, look sideways at my tiny new baby, you do have to walk through a hospital and despite birth, holy germmies batman!) and a whale hat – how appropriate that would become.
Also, whether it matches perfectly or not, you’ll be glad you have that extra bumper cover one night at 2am when she poops/pukes on the one you have in there and you have something else you can put on (or just take the cover off). I was NEVER sorry to have extra bedding. Also, make sure you register for at least 2 fittted sheets and matress covers, and put them both on, that way when she pukes/poops on the top one, just pull a layer off and at 2am you’re good to go again, no changing bedding necessary.
AMAZING ADVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was thinking the same thing about the bumper today! THANK YOU!
SO, what is a fitted sheet vs a mattress cover and what are sheet savers? I’m so confused! Is the mattress cover just like the one I have on my bed? Is it waterproof? The organic mattress we got is waterproof I think tho too! Help, mommies?! I need help!!
I LOVE YOUR IDEA ABOUT PUTTING 2 ON!!! LOVE IT!!! YOU’RE AMAZING!
