Project 52: 29 | We Moved!

August 9, 2011 family August 9, 2011

So we made it! We traveled during the last week of July to our new home! Well, our new “home” but our “home” is being built! And, they haven’t even broken ground yet so we’ll be in “limbo” until Christmas it looks like :( Boo! We are really hoping for FITbaby’s first Christmas in our new house! But, you never know! It was supposed to be Thanksgiving but now with all the storms here, we’re looking at Christmas. So, we took a 9.5 hour drive with a 3 week old baby across the country. Thank God for my wonderful husband. Thank God for my in-laws! Thank God for a great baby and dog. Thank God!  The trip went really well. It took 13 hours straight ...

Congrats! You’re going to be grandparents!

December 27, 2010 family December 27, 2010

So, we ordered this puzzle before we heard the good news that we were not going to be having the FIRST grandchild on my side of the family!!  We got the great news that my [only] brother and wife are a few weeks ahead of us….BABY BOOM of 2011!!! But, we still wanted to wait until Thanksgiving to share the news with my parents….in person [they live 9 hours away.] As a kid, we always did a puzzle at the holidays so we thought a fun, small, 4×6 puzzle with 20 pieces would be a fun way to tell them. My mom figured it out right away but still finished the puzzle. It was pretty cute! We have a video but I haven’t received it ...

’tis the season | our family Thanksgiving trip

November 29, 2010 family November 29, 2010

[straight out of camera photo of my Xmas tree, using self timer, tripod, and in the evening] A few of my favorite parts of this last week… seeing my whole family – which happens rarely, hopefully once a year. eating out for Thanksgiving – HUGE spread of food. NO cleanup. relaxing all day Thanksgiving – NO cooking or cleaning. a family picture, finally. traveling North for cooler weather. It was freezing! Christmas is almost here! taking Toby with us out of town. We went to Hot Springs, AR [where my mother used to vacation as a child in the 60's] and it was a really neat trip!  We have been watching the HBO Show Boardwalk Empire and are obsessed with gangsters [what's new] so we ...

photography | encouragement to shoot in M

September 18, 2010 family September 18, 2010

I talked about the camera my sweet FIThubby got me for Christmas in this post. I also stated in that post that I am not a photographer, but I sure do love using my camera! What fun!  I have to tell you that I purchased a ton of books, have done a lot of research, asked a lot of questions and PRACTICE as much as I can.  I still have a tremendous amount of learning to do, but it is TONS of fun for someone who loves photos as much as I do! My BFF encouraged me to shoot in Manual. She is a photographer. Read her post here on shooting in M.  I took her advice after a month and I shoot in Manual ...

still learning | learn with me!

September 7, 2010 beauty September 7, 2010

Lately I have been hesitant to complete posts because I am in the process of getting my Nutrition Certifications and I know that I’ll be learning more about these topics soon. BUT, I’ve decided I will post as I learn and things will get amended and my blog will grow as I grow and you can learn with me! I guess, generally speaking, we are all learning and growing. Science is evolving and there is a lot we still do not know about nutrition, fitness, health, disease and weight loss! Currently, with my ankle injury, my focus has to be nutrition rather than fitness to maintain my weight and stay healthy, since I still have to keep my foot elevated to keep the swelling down. ...

memories | today’s wedding

August 28, 2010 family August 28, 2010

Every year when the Today Show starts their Today’s Wedding series it brings me back to a great time and I have “warm and fuzzy” feelings!  You know the kind of happiness that comes from the holidays?  It’s like that for me when I see the Today’s Wedding series start. In June 2004, my FIThubby (then my FITfiance) graduated from USAFA.  I had already transfered colleges (a total of FOUR) and I needed one more semester to graduate. I stayed in Denver to finish my last semester of college.  Once I finished my Bachelor’s Degree, I headed to my parents’ home in Atlanta for a month until the wedding. FIThubby was already in Macon, GA at our first assignment in the AF.  I was so ...
