Well, the party at our house last night was GREAT!  We had a great turn out and I think people had a great time. My friend, Anne, did a GREAT job with the food! She brought the cute polka dot coffee cups, too.  LOVE! I’m so bummed I forgot to get pics of US at the party! We were having too much fun!! I always forget pics when I’m having a great time!  I thought I’d share the ONE pic I took……the spread in my kitchen on the kitchen table!

I told everyone on Facebook about my GREAT sale at Old Navy/GAP last weekend online. I saved over $100 on the 3 baby dresses and my one sweater and spent under $50!! I got the stuff in the mail today and I’m SOOO excited!!!  First of all, I’m in LOVE with these baby clothes. This is my FIRST baby purchase and they were hugely on sale and will work for any season so I felt ok about buying them.  AND, I AM IN LOVE WITH THEM…..aren’t you?! Oh brother! I’m in trouble!!! [BTW, sign up for gap.com emails at the bottom of their page and you'll get a coupon in email!]

So, the rest of this post is on MY clothes but it applies to everyone…not just preggo ladies.  I am currently in between sizes. I am not a Ladies Small anymore.  The shirts are too short….

Everyone gave me the advice to just wear my Mediums and that works for some things….as long as they’re fitted enough and not too boxy. When I bought the GAPkids clothes on sale, I also got an OldNavy sweater on sale that is maternity and….it fits!!!

Take a look at 2 medium sweaters I had in my closet. Can we say FRUMPY?  And, does not fit?  Take a look at where the belt hits on my preggo belly…just doesn’t hit me right….

And, they may fit my belly, but take a look at the “wings” I have!! It doesn’t fit in the armpits and thus makes it look MORE FRUMPY!!!  So, upsizing to a medium…just doesn’t work all the time.

Now, take a look at the maternity sweater. It fits in the belly with room to spare. It has the belt in the right place. It’s a SMALL so it fits in my armpits.  It fits well!!

It’s not perfect. It’s not my favorite sweater but it was originally 39.50 and was on sale for $14.95 plus a discount due to the coupon code!  I mean, come on! You can’t beat that!! [I'm really cheap, BUT it has to fit well!!!]  Oh and the sweaters are darker. I accidentally had my ISO set to 3200 during this quick and mini shoot today and didn’t want to retake so…the pics are not perfect!! :)


Any tips on finding clothes that fit well in pregnancy and otherwise?  And, good places for sales??!!

Do you like your clothes fitted or a little baggy to hide your problem areas?

I always feel like I look bigger in baggy clothes!

Including these maternity slacks I’m wearing in this shoot…they’re too baggy!! :(

How do you avoid a wedgie at the gym?!

The question in the magazine was “How do you pick a wedgie discreetly at the gym?” Sorry, ladies, but I’m not so sure it’s possible, especially with all the cameras around at the gym!!!

I thought I’d share my “cheap” wedgie solution with you all. I love Target…and if you don’t have one (we didn’t for a while and it was a tough time!) you can order online with free shipping!!!

So, NO wedgies and NO panty lines!! Yay!!  A little tip…once you start to sweat (and you should be sweating at the gym or you’re wasting your time!!) they’ll “stick” in place so they won’t be riding/rolling up.

These boy shorts are only $5 each (they come in a 2 pack) so you can get a week or two worth and it’s not going to break the bank!!

Compare that to the Underarmour brand that are $19.99 each!!! Ouch!!!

I’m always looking for cheap workout clothes because I want at LEAST a week’s worth! And, when you ramp up your workouts for those times you’re trying to bust through a plateau you may need enough for 8-10 workouts in a week!!! This = a LOT of workout clothes for me!

You all know by now that I love muscles!  I love the physique of a tough, strong, muscular woman.  I have a great respect for women who work hard to stay lean and strong now that I’ve done it!  It’s hard work!

My idea of a strong and healthy physique has changed. I am so excited about this lunch tote/cooler bag I found in the latest Crate and Barrel catalog! I just ordered mine and I can’t wait. Now, i won’t stand out quite as much when I’m always carrying my cooler around!! Genius!!! I never leave the house without food and I always take an extra meal beyond what I think I’ll need and I usually need it!!

I might have to get a second one. I got the teal to go with my blue Coach bag, though I maybe should have gotten the black….but I thought it might be a wee bit boring! :) Trying to add a little color to my life!

I asked Shawna of styleberryPHOTO to take this photo for me to show how small this bag is. It works for a lunch, or a few meals but not much more than that. It’s pretty small. We both thought that this was a shoulder bag almost, but it’s pretty small. The bag I take now has room for food, 2 cooler packs and a huge water bottle. This is still more stylish for around town, or one errand, but I’ll stick to my huge backpack for all day road trips. Just thought I’d update you after I received my purchase!!!
