It’s FUN Friday so I thought I’d change it up a bit and save my GREAT post on money and weight for Monday…..I stole this from a new fave blog of mine…How Sweet It Is. It’s so hard to top her answers though! I almost didn’t try!

Four TV shows I watch:

1. Boardwalk Empire…LOVE!
2. Brothers & Sisters….LOVE & own all seasons!
3. Oprah [sorry people, I watch the show]
4. Nate Berkus Show…new LOVE! So inspiring!

Four things I’m passionate about:

1. People – love, friendship, relationships, family.
2. Health – take care of your body so you can live your life.
3. “be who you admire” – live the life you dreamed, be the person you keep admiring
4. Learning – I learn every day. I love to learn. I love to read.

Four things I did yesterday:

1. Got my hair trimmed & flat ironed by my wonderful hairdresser. [PIC TO THE RIGHT of my awesome hairdresser after she straightened my hair!]
2. Blogged.
3. Worked all day.
4. Market research for the new FITori store…opening soon!

Four things I am looking forward to:

1. Becoming a mother.
2. Moving back to the Midwest – sooner or later…someday.
3. Watching my business start and grow soon!
4. Watching my life unfold.

Four things I love about winter:

1. Freshly fallen snow, first thing in the morning.
2. Fires in the fireplace
3. Hot cocoa after a long day of playing in the snow
4. Skiing, sledding, snowmen, toddlers in snowsuits all bundled up [makes me laugh]

We got snow here in the South last February 2010! It was crazy! I took pics of the house for a real estate ad some day!

Today is Toby’s 4th Birthday!!!

The pic to the left is a preview of our Christmas card.  Check back in a few weeks to read what his shirt says!

Toby was our first child. This is a tribute to our first child on his 4th birthday.

I figured…who doesn’t love cute puppy pictures??!!

You can tell by the photos and videos that he was our first child and we have loved him like he’s our kid…yet still a dog.

He’s such a great dog we haven’t gotten another….we’re scared the next won’t be as good as him!

I only made it from 6 weeks [breeder pics] to 14 weeks with 32 photos!!!  Seriously!!! We have thousands of photos of him growing up and hundreds of videos.

Our neighbors have always kidded that they can’t wait to see us with kids because we got SO excited with Toby teaching him how to swim. The neighbors heads all popped up over the fences when we were screaming “YAY!” and “Good Boy!” when he was learning to swim. [Videos below]

I thought I’d pass along a little tip that I heard and it works for me about half the time.

CHEW GUM WHILE YOU CHOP ONIONS!

It works for me about half the time….but that’s better than none!

Why does this work? [the simple answer] Chewing gum while cutting onions prevents tears by forcing you to breathe through your mouth. This disperses the irritant so that a significantly smaller amount reaches the lachrymal glands, preventing them from being irritated enough to release tears.

cleaned stove. looked at it shine. made steel cut oats. turned around for a second…. *sigh*  cleaned stove again.

why does that always happen?

I have a hard time limiting my [typed] words.

Not quite there yet w/ the wordless Wednesday.

Yep! That’s half my pancake on the floor.

I ate my next meal much sooner than I usually do!

*sigh*

Please keep in mind that (as my BFF says) this is his “I know I’m the shit” face….so true!  And, that he just got back from a long weekend of being TDY and had flown all day (he’s a pilot…so he actually flew).  He was so proud of the shirt he found and was so excited to show me as soon as he got home.  I HAVE THE BEST HUSBAND EVER!!!  As Jim said, this gift was “better than flowers” which I had to laugh at but also agree…I now call this shirt his “better than flowers shirt.” (I hate flowers by the way…I’ve asked him to NOT get me flowers…I hate the work, the bugs, the pollen, etc….a story for another day.)

This shirt goes along w/ my info about support in the GetFIT write up I have at the top of my blog. He is SO supportive of my competing and always has been. He’s willing to spend anything on my education and on my fitness/health journey.  He is willing to spend money to support me in anything that is positive for me and for that I am truly grateful.  He is also supportive when it comes to my diet and exercise, not just in talking and allowing me to spend our money on this, but also in DOING! He is on my diet with me, supporting me every step of the way.  He eats healthy both at home and at work…most of the time at work, I think…what I don’t know won’t hurt me. He helps to keep me on track. He goes to the gym with me, lifts with me and takes fun cardio classes while pushing me along. He’s not there every minute or every time I go to the gym…he also has a job and a life, but when he can, he does.  We go to the track together on the weekends and he does lunges and stadiums with me (and we take our furry kid, Toby).  He runs the dog with me and we rollerblade him some days too.  It goes a long with with our relationship and building our friendship even stronger when we are doing all of these things together!

I am so blessed and am so proud of my hubby!!!

Thanks for the great shirt!!!  I’m so proud to be his arm candy and glad he can be proud of me too and all the work I’ve done!!!

Mom and I saw this on the Purina Dog Show on Thanksgiving and I forgot to share it until now.  I was telling a friend about it last night and realized I needed to share it with more people.  Check out your favorite dog breed, the breed you have, the dog breed you had growing up, the dog breed you are considering purchasing or your friend’s dog breed.

These are some of my favorites below….my Toby (golden retriever), my next favorite choice dog breed and friend Nestle (bernie), My BFF’s dog Rusty and one of my Best Dogs (boxer) and the dog I grew up with, Duchess (chow).

The jury is still out on this show, at least for me! From what I’ve read the ratings aren’t quite there either. So far, I like it. I like that it shows the faults of women and that wives and mothers are not perfect. The stories are true stories from other mothers, so that is definitely appealing also. The cast is great, these are three fantastic actresses. Try it out and let me know what you think? Do you like it? It is too progressive for may viewers? Do you think it will last? Does it make you cringe to see all of the nannies and the mommies unable to care for their own children even on the weekends? Did the end of the last episode “turn you off” at all with the mom walking out the door saying ‘Thank God the vacation is over…back to work!’ I’m not a mother, so I have no personal place of reference. I’d love to hear what you think….but in the meantime, I’ll be watching.
