Wildtree Natural Products

So, I don’t have time for any more jobs, but I do like to share things that I love with you. I’d probably sell this stuff myself if I had the time, but having no time means I’m having a party and buying and sharing these great products with you instead! About Wildtree. Some of these products are even “too packaged” for me. But, good on them for trying to make packaged foods healthier. You know we eat convenience foods in this country so if we can make them less processed and with fewer chemicals, then way to go! Especially if you have picky kids! Many of these products are GREAT for kids. My favorite products. I love their grapeseed oils…flavored and unflavored. Their blueberry ...

Own It. Forgive Yourself. | Wearing a bikini in front of other moms….

June 21, 2012 FITbaby June 21, 2012

I had some deep thinking occur the other night at 2am.  I was thinking about the swim class I’ve signed up FITbaby and it was time for the first class. My former self [pre-FITbaby] would have obsessed over wearing a bathing suit in front of my friends…obsessed! I would have thought about it day and night for weeks or months. I would have thought about eating no carbs or less carbs or working out more. I would have thought about making sure my tummy was flat, etc. Back to the deep thinking….I was wondering… “what has changed?” Why don’t I care anymore? What’s the difference? I discovered…a few things about myself that I thought might help others….. Own It. & Forgive Yourself.  Making Fitness a ...

Baby Led Weaning [Part 3] | Real Food For Baby

May 21, 2012 Baby Led Weaning May 21, 2012
Baby-Led-Weaning-BLW-How-To

I read a few books when we started our Baby Led Weaning [BLW]  & I linked them here. They said that babies will decide what their bodies need.  And I’ve seen this with FITbaby since we started Baby Led Weaning at 6 months old back in December.  She goes through weeks where she loves broccoli, days where she loves asparagus, and months where she loves chicken.  She used to love apples all the time, lately she loves berries all the time.  But there are times I think I know better :) and I want her to eat one of the food groups she’s missing…mostly her greens for fiber. :) I discovered a few things in the last few weeks with BLW that I thought I’d ...

No rice cereal for baby | Baby Led Weaning

January 9, 2012 Baby Led Weaning January 9, 2012

This is a blog about nutrition and fitness. And, now, since I have FITbaby, her nutrition is extremely important to me.  I had no idea that so much of what we feed our children is based on tradition versus research.  In general, I’ve found that the statement “Infant research is in it’s infancy” is an accurate one! I think I found that quote here. And, that statement is so disappointing to me. Why isn’t more research on our babies?! Anyway, when I started hearing discussions about “rice cereal” as my daughter’s first food, my first thought was to give her “brown rice cereal”…of course. But, then, I started doing more research and wondered…why rice cereal at all?  Should her first food be cereal? Grains? Carbs? ...

Food Addiction | Label foods as poison!

IMG_3626EWM_fitori

This Today Show segment got me thinking this morning…. We know that sugar, fats and processed foods have the same impact on our brains as drugs. They stimulate the release of dopamine in the brain, like drugs. I agree with this because I love sugar and I wouldn’t doubt that I am addicted to sugar.  BUT, is it different and even harder for the overweight? New studies say YES! New studies say that the effects of these processed, fatty and sugary foods have a GREATER effect on the overweight. I know how hard it is for me, so if it’s even harder for the overweight I can’t imagine how hard this is!!!  The overweight also have a harder time because of the increased hormones associated ...
