Grill Seasonings & Condiments

January 7, 2010 in nutrition,recipes

I’m sharing some of my favorite low- and no-calorie seasonings.

We use BBQ seasoning in lieu of actual BBQ sauce.  We use that mainly on chicken. The McCormick’s can be bought just about anywhere.  I have only found the KC Masterpiece at Wal-Mart (my favorite place ever…totally kidding).

The Steak Seasing is great on steak, obviously, but crazy, I know….it’s fabulous on salmon!!!  Fab.u.lous.  My hubby put it on my salmon on accident one night…best accident EVER! It’s fabulous!

I use the Lemon Pepper seasoning on my chicken mostly because I like to add the condimentsbelow. I get this Tone’s brand at Sam’s Club.

The Cajun Shake is great on Tilapia.  It’s salty enough to not add anything else to it.

Mustard is awesome because it’s no calorie. But, if you can’t have sodium you’ll need to watch that.

I like the low sugar variety of ketchup because I have always loved ketchup but it’s too high in sugar and calories.  But, I eat a tablespoon 1-3 times a day so a max of 15 calories with my chicken. And, honestly, it makes it do-able for me to eat chicken as often as I do. I find that the food you eat, healthy or not, MUST taste good or you won’t eat it!  And, for me..these things help!

See the image below….

I included regular ketchup (the big bottle) and the Organic (bottle on the right) along with the Low Sugar (bottle on the left) so you can see the nutrition facts on all of them.
