So we made it! We traveled during the last week of July to our new home! Well, our new “home” but our “home” is being built! And, they haven’t even broken ground yet so we’ll be in “limbo” until Christmas it looks like Boo! We are really hoping for FITbaby’s first Christmas in our new house! But, you never know! It was supposed to be Thanksgiving but now with all the storms here, we’re looking at Christmas.
So, we took a 9.5 hour drive with a 3 week old baby across the country. Thank God for my wonderful husband. Thank God for my in-laws! Thank God for a great baby and dog. Thank God! The trip went really well. It took 13 hours straight through. We stopped to feed/burp/change FITbaby every 3 hours approximately. So, we stopped 4 times for her. The hubby and in-laws walked Toby. Everyone peed. They took food orders. They did their thing while I fed/burped/changed FITbaby and then I passed her off to go pee and back in the car we went! It was perfect! My in-laws traded driving me so I could stay in the back with her and watch her to be sure she was doing well.
BTW, it was the hottest day of the year! Poor Toby was in the back of my SUV. He is really happy back there but it was hot and he was dodging the sun. FIThubby put a fan back there for him but I know it wasn’t comfortable. He was great. He laid down and chilled…except when he was peaking over the seat [photo left] staring at his FITbaby girl!
[As I write this post, he's sitting outside her door....awwwww.]
I will tell you all about that cute “lovey” blanket that you see there covering up FITbaby’s feet! There is a matching blanket that goes in her bassinett and future toddler seat and it is the softest thing EVER!
