February 11, 2011 in nursery,pregnancy

Above is Liam Spelling/McDermott’s nursery and probably the inspiration for my idea.  I picked out this nursery color a year ago [or more] and planned to use these accents for a boy or HOT PINK for a girl…..we’re having a girl SO it’ll be tons of fun!!! YAY for HOT PINK! :)

I think I’ve decided on this Tiffany blue color [or some variation of it] for the walls or at least one or two walls.  I am not sure if it’s too dark or “too much” yet. I may have to just paint and see! :)

I’m just preparing you that you may not see the finished nursery until after baby is born. *awwww*  I know! I’d love to have it done before baby. BUT, we’re putting our house on the market and moving. We’re not sure when. But we’re thinking we’ll wait to start the nursery until we’re in the new house.  I mean really…..are buyers going to love this Tiffany Blue as much as I do?! Probably not!

I also have some fun posts coming up on staging including pics of our house once they’re taken!! :) I’ll finally get you some pics of the remodeled kitchen!!! And, no…the outlet is not fixed!! [read more on that here] I have an outlet cover but no screws to hold it in! He’s supposed to come this afternoon [after calling and hounding yet again...we'll see....holding my breath? no!]  Can you believe it?! AAAHHH! I plan to share what I’ve done for staging.  That is why I’ve been lax on posting lately AND why my baby books are sitting on my bedside…unread…for now.

Back to the nursery….my accent color will be HOT PINK & I’ll probably do dark espresso wood furniture for the crib & dresser. I would love a plush chair in there but I have a dark brown recliner that I may use….b/c I have it [=free] and love it! We’ll see!

I’m thinking of using the pages out of kids books for the photos on the walls, framed in white maybe…or dark brown. I’m also excited about having THE BEST NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER ON THE PLANET take FITbaby’s newborn pics so I KNOW I’ll have tons that I’ll want to display. Oh, right, who’s that photographer?!  Miss styleberryPHOTO!

So, what am I missing?  We’re hoping to do hardwood flooring in our new house, even in the bedrooms so I’ll need to pick a fabulous [yet inexpensive] rug….check out the rug & bookshelves below….LOVE!  May have to take a trip to IKEA to get this beauty!

Found the artwork on the pic w/ the amazing rug in the PBK catalog for mid-spring 2011.  Find it here! [Thanks Anne!]

What do you think? What am I missing? Any ideas from my fabulously creative friends?

Any great pics you want to share?! Link in the comments! I’d love to see your nurseries [and friends'] and inspiration!

These are the EXACT colors I am using for my baby girl’s (due May 14) nursery! I really want her room to be bright and cheery, which reflects my style. After all, I am going to be in there just as much as she is!! And I am also in the same situation as you. My hubby is in training at Whiting Field in Pensacola and we will be moving somewhere in the the next month or so… so no painting or furniture-assembling until the next place.

It’s funny! That painting looks different in the PBK catalog than in that pic! Lightning? or the wallcolor? Not sure! Might have to try it though!!! :) Only if it goes on sale!!!

How fun! Neely’s room was purple and blue for a while, but now we’re transitioning to pink and blue. Her quilt is about the color you’ve chosen for the walls. And she has a gorgeous cherry blossom painting that my SIL did to hang in her room. Not sure if we’ll be able to do it, but I also love when there’s a fancy chandelier hanging in a little girl’s room.

Love the colors! I also love those shelves in the last picture for all the books and baby “things” that I’m already starting to accumulate. :-)

I have put about ZERO thought into our nursery, and we only have 3 months left…eek! Thanks for your inspiration!

I have to admit that I love watching Tori and Dean. I love the color ideas. I used to have the Ikea bookshelf and I loved it. I wish I still had it.

Ok, I love this color and it brings me to share this bedding with you. I want this so bad that I have even tried talking my hubby into letting me order it and putting it away for our someday baby girl. That’s if we ever have one. He said no, but I still love it sooo much!
