How’d you do in 2010? | 2010 Goals Revisited Again

Last year I was pretty succesful with my goals but I will still carry some over some for 2011…work in progress!! My Goals for 2010 can be found here.  I got more ambitious last summer and decided to revise and ADD to my goals in late July…what was I thinking? 🙂 My Revised Goals for 2010 are here.

Goals revised & added in July 2010

  • Blog every day to every other day…inspiring and sharingDo I get a pass for morning sickness?  Work in progress.
  • Stay in touch w/ my blogs using NetNewsWireAnother pass for 1st trimester? Work in progress.
  • Update our budget/transactions on Mint.com daily — NEW! Canceled!! New system that’s working better for us now! Less work!
  • Finish my masters degree (by Thanksgiving)CHECK!
  • Continue working on organization & simplifying my life & home (one space at a time) — Continue to 2011.  (External Hard Drive is my current project!)
  • Continue with health and nutrition as my #1 goal for my diet — Continue to 2011! Big year ahead with pregnancy and nursing!
  • Work out every day to every other day to stay in great shape for pregnancy — Hoping I get a pass here too?! But I’m thinking NO! Ankle injury + 1st trimester morning sickness = I’m working this week to get back at it since I’m finally feeling a little better!! Still sleeping SO much that I’ve lost HOURS every day of productivity!
  • Read through my fertility/pregnancy books and maybe get to first year baby books — CHECK! Transfer to 2011 for first baby, birth and breastfeeding books!
  • Start shooting in RAW and working with my new Canon DSLR & new Adobe Photoshop — Work in progress.  Thinking of doing a Project 52.  Looking at buying a new lens and/or external flash.  Always shooting in RAW and editing in PS.  And, working on getting better with PS.

Original 2010 goals…

  • Get and stay more organized —- Work In Progress
  • Compete by the end of the year —- CHECK
  • Read all of my pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and baby books —–  All done, but baby books
  • Work on maintaining weight and eating a healthy pre-pregnancy diet —- Work In Progress
  • Learn about my new camera and Photoshop — Work In Progress
    • I started shooting in RAW in August 2010!  🙂
  • Complete my Masters Degree by end of 2010 or Feb 2011 — CHECK
  • Blog more often…INSPIRE OTHERS!!! —– Work in Progress
  • Keep up with reading my favorite blogs — Work In Progress

I believe in having a plan for things in order to succeed. I believe in plans for losing weight, success at work, personal goals, etc. Do you agree or disagree?

Lauren @ Fun, Fit and Fabulous! - Last year I did not set specific goals for myself (probably because I was in the middle of wedding planning, graduating from college, and losing my mind). 🙂 But this year will be very different! I am brainstorming very specific goals for 2011!

Renee Booe - Love this post and the fact that I’m not the only one that does this. Last year I had tons of goals for the business but not that many personal goals. I look forward to making personal goals this year along with ones for the business. Just haven’t had time to sit down and focus on them. I do know that I need to organize my hardrive and that I want to do a triathlon next summer-perhaps do a longer one than I’ve done in the past. Events help me maintain a workout plan.

The Baby Whisperer Solves All you Problems by Tracy Hogg
The Ultimate Breastfeeding Book of Answers by Dr. Newman
Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth

Depending on my mood and how I was feeling about my preparedness, the order I read these in was:

1. Baby Whisperer (helped me to picture actually having a baby – but had to go back and reference parts once baby was here… super helpful)

2. Breastfeeding book (also helped with feeling more informed about all the things I was uncomfortable with)

3. Ina May (I put this one off until I was about 6 months pregnant, but it helped me to understand the process… warning: it is VERY biased toward natural delivery – but, I felt like I understood the “medical” process, so I wanted to better understand the “other side”… wonderful read – I started with section 2 first)

All of these were available at my local library FYI.

Chelsea McCown - What are you using for your finances??? I’ve been trying Mint.com and just find it annoying. I’ve always done Quicken, but it’s a ton of work! What do you use?

tori - It is a little annoying! Shawna recommended Quicken for Mac. I’ve been using USAA b/c they now take non-USAA accounts!

Tina @ Faith Fitness Fun - You certainly get passes for the 1st trimester. That trimester is evil.

tori - I love you Tina. Thanks for saying that! Still feeling unproductive w/ the extra hours of sleep required!!!

tori - @ joy – I’m saving that comment so I can get all those books!!! And, I’ll look at the local libraries I have…tho they suck! 🙂
