photography | my first camera

I am not a photographer, but I love photography.  I have always loved photos.  FIThubby still kids that I spent the first year of our marriage obsessed over my wedding photos. I just love pictures!

FIThubby bought me my Canon Rebel T1i for Christmas this year as a TOTAL surprise in cahoots with my BFF of styleberryBLOG.  That was my first dSLR camera.  I am cheap. I would have never agreed to spending that kind of money on something I did not need. BUT, I am so glad he got it for me because I am having so much fun with photography!!!

Someday I may be a photographer. It is definitely an interest of mine. But, for now, my passion is nutrition and fitness. And, I don’t have enough free time to explore photography like I’d like. You will hopefully see my photography skills grow through this blog! I am working on it, but it is not my priority.

My grandfather (pic below) gave this Polaroid camera to me on our trip to the Grand Canyon that year and I found it neat to look back and see that I even had the interest at 4 or 5 years old.

FIThubby took the pics above of me using my bestie, Renee’s camera. Renee of Renee Booe Photography is the wonderful friend of mine that took my contest photos – including the ones you see in the header!!!

This is my grandfather. He died way too early.  He died of heart disease…please see my post here.  This photo of him was taken during that same trip.  He died only five years later.  I missed out on many years with him due to heart disease. I should have had many more years to get to know him and learn from him.  I missed out on those years.

What was your interest that has stayed with you since childhood?!
